Introduction to the Steps and Precautions for Connecting PE Hot-Melt Pipe Fittings

PE Hot-melt pipe fittings Steps and Precautions for Connection

  1. Material Preparation

1.1 Turn on the power to all sections of the welding machine. A 220 V, 50 Hz AC power supply is required, with voltage fluctuations within ±10%. The power supply Need A grounding wire must be provided, and the heating plate surface shall be clean and free of scratches.

1.2 Connect the pump station and the frame in China using hydraulic line communication. Before connection, inspect and clean any dirt at the joints to prevent contamination from entering the hydraulic system and damaging the hydraulic components; after connecting the hydraulic lines, tighten the joints securely to avoid the risk of them coming loose under high-pressure operating conditions. Enter the welding process parameters according to the operational management mode selected by the student: pipe diameter; wall thickness or SDR value; heating plate temperature; and welder code.

  2. Strengthen

Convert PE Hot-melt pipe fittings Alternatively, lay the pipe and fitting flat on the fusion welding machine, leaving a 10–20 mm beveling allowance. Select appropriate clamps to secure the pipe and fitting based on the welding requirements for the PE pipe and fitting, then proceed with cutting.

  3. Cutting: Cut the ends of welded pipe sections and fittings to remove surface contaminants and oxide layers, ensuring that the mating end faces are smooth, clean, and free of impurities.

3.1 Open the machine frame, insert the milling cutter, and tighten the locking knob to secure the cutter in place. When starting the pump station, ensure that the directional control handle is in the neutral position; under no circumstances should the high-pressure system be started.

3.2 Start the milling cutter, close the fixture, and cut the end face of the pipe fitting.

3.3 After continuous cutting and shaping, relieve the pressure, open the fixture, and shut off the milling cutter. This process Need Proceed in the following sequence: first relieve the pressure, then open the fixture, and finally shut off the milling cutter.

3.4 Remove the milling cutter, close the tooling fixture, and inspect the gap at both ends of the PE pipe (the gap should not exceed 0.3 mm). When removing the milling cutter from the machine frame, avoid any impact between the cutter and the end faces; if such an impact occurs, the cutter must be re-ground. The milled end faces must not be touched by hand or contaminated with oil.

  4. Centered

  1. Inspect PE Hot-melt pipe fittings coaxiality (with a maximum misalignment equal to 10% of the pipe wall thickness). When the gap and misalignment at both ends fail to meet the design requirements, the workpieces to be welded shall be re-clamped and milled; only after passing inspection may the next step of the procedure be carried out.

  5. Heating

5.1 Verify that the heating plate temperature is within the range of 210°C to 230°C and that the melt length at both ends is 1–2 mm.

5.2 The red indicator light on the heating plate shall illuminate or flash. After the red indicator light first illuminates on the heating plate, wait for 10 minutes to ensure uniform temperature across the entire heating surface.

5.3 Record the resistance P0 to the development of the testing management system. It is necessary to measure the drag pressure of each welded joint; when the drag pressure exceeds the allowable limit, the issue can be resolved by adding a short pipe extension.

5.4 Set the heating plate to the appropriate temperature on the frame, close the clamps, and set the system pressure P1.

5.5 When the protruding portion between the PE hot-melt pipe fittings has been uniformly and thoroughly heated to meet the design requirements, reduce the pressure to approximately the drag system pressure, then press the heat-absorption timing button to start recording the heat-absorption time.
