What are the characteristics of steel-plastic transition?

Steel-plastic transition What are its characteristics? We have previously provided a brief introduction to this question, but we’ve found that many customers still don’t fully understand it. Today, we’re taking this opportunity to explain it in more detail, with the hope of providing valuable assistance to those concerned.

 Steel-plastic transition

The steel–plastic transition exhibits excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, impact resistance, as well as superior resistance to ultraviolet radiation and photoaging. Given its intended application, it is important to note that the anti-corrosion heat-shrink sleeve is designed for underground corrosion protection and puncture protection of DN gas steel pipes. It is specifically engineered to meet the stringent requirements for corrosion protection, sealing integrity, wear resistance, and aesthetic appearance at underground and overhead steel pipe weld joints and at steel–plastic transition sections. It can also be used for sealing and corrosion protection at pipeline flange connections, insulated flanges, and clamp (lock) connections. Under these conditions, a robust corrosion-resistant structure is naturally formed, characterized by outstanding wear resistance, corrosion resistance at the steel–plastic transition, impact resistance, and excellent resistance to UV radiation and photoaging. Straight-tube type. Steel-plastic transition Main pipelines or large-diameter pipes used for steel-plastic transition applications in road crossings and bridge structures. Steel-plastic transition can also be implemented using bent-pipe fittings, connecting the lower end of the courtyard water supply pipe to a small-diameter overhead riser. In fact, steel–plastic transition joints are integral structures, or “closed-type” assemblies, exhibiting excellent properties such as low shrinkage, creep resistance, aging resistance, impact resistance, and heat resistance. The anti-corrosion heat-shrink tubing features high shear and peel adhesion to hot-melt adhesive, strong adhesion to steel pipes, epoxy coatings, and PE coatings, and superior sealing performance; it also demonstrates outstanding resistance to chemical corrosion, water immersion, and water-vapor permeation, thereby extending both its service life and the service life of the pipeline. In addition to what we have already discussed, the steel–plastic transition anti-corrosion heat-shrink sleeve can alternatively be configured as a three-layer structure consisting of a radiation-crosslinked polyolefin base material, a specialized sealing hot-melt adhesive, and a liquid epoxy primer followed by an internally coated heat-shrink round sleeve. The sealing hot-melt adhesive for steel–plastic transitions forms strong bonds with the polyolefin base material, the surface of the steel pipe, and solid epoxy coatings. When used to protect steel–plastic transition joints, during heat-shrink installation the circular sleeve contracts radially while simultaneously melting the internal composite rubber layer, which then tightly envelops the steel–plastic transition joint to form a robust anti-corrosion barrier. This barrier exhibits exceptional wear resistance, corrosion resistance, impact resistance, as well as excellent resistance to ultraviolet radiation and photoaging.

The above article has introduced the relevant information about Steel-plastic transition its characteristics—if you’re not familiar with them, hurry up and learn about them. We hope this will be helpful to more people, and we’ll bring even more exciting content in the next installment. If you have any questions, feel free to consult us at any time.
