Precautions for connecting electrofusion fittings: How to assess product quality?

Designed with a vector-based structural system, these fittings feature plastic bearings, variable flexibility, reliable electric heating for welding, and precise socket positioning, making them suitable for connecting PE-RT and PE piping systems.   I. Connection Precautions

  1. Installation should be carried out when the outdoor temperature is low. Because plastic pipes exhibit thermal expansion and cold contraction, their dimensions are at their minimum when the daily temperature is very low, making it much easier to connect electrofusion fittings under these conditions.

  2. During connection, ensure that the pipe and its associated fittings, such as sleeves and seals, are clean and free of contaminants like dirt and water. If any dirt is present, wipe it off with a damp cloth before making the connection to prevent adverse effects on weld quality.

  3. When electrofusion flange connections are required, live套 steel flanges, bolts, and other metallic components shall be subjected to corrosion protection in accordance with the local soil conditions and relevant national standards to prevent rusting and ensure service quality.

  2. Measure the product’s length and wall thickness: High-quality products have a deep socket and thick walls, while low-quality products are short and thin.

  3. Measurement Electrofusion Fittings Weight: The better the electric fusion fittings, the heavier they are; the inferior ones are the opposite.

  4. During use, inspect electric fusion fittings for any pungent odor. High-quality electric fusion fittings shall comply with hygiene and safety standards and be completely odorless; inferior fittings, however, are often blended with recycled materials and emit a sharp, irritating smell.

  5. Provide the sanitary license and approval documents for electrofusion fittings. Labels on high-quality electrofusion fittings shall indicate the certificate of conformity, manufacturer, model, welding parameters, and other relevant information. If such information is missing, the product is classified as a “three-no” product and is deemed to be substandard.
